Higher Education Associate

R. Theodore (Ted) Smith joined the family firm in 1997 as its higher education associate and is responsible for developing new college degree and certificate programs. He brings more than 40 years of diverse experience and leadership in administration and academic affairs having served as a Dean of Academic Affairs, and the founding Dean of a branch campus. Ted continues to exhibit his passion for teaching as an adjunct faculty member!

A seasoned administrator and professor, Ted is very knowledgeable about the policies and practices of the State University of New York (SUNY) and the NYS Education Department (SED) and selected other states. In addition to expertise in curriculum design, he is experienced in higher education management

issues, finance, branch campus operations, extension center development and selected aspects of facilities planning.

He was also named Outstanding Educator in America for his contributions to the advancement of higher education and community service
