Patricia A. Smith, founder and president of Management Strategies, is a trained professional with more than 25 years of management experience in the nonprofit sector. She founded Management Strategies in 1992 as a private consulting firm that provides a comprehensive and integrated approach to organizational development and capacity building.
Ms. Smith brings the combined perspective of chief executive officer and volunteer board member having served as an executive director of a large multipurpose agency, as a United Way planner and a project director of a teen volunteer/ older adult friendly visiting program. She has extensive voluntary board service with both local and state organizations ranging from workforce development to child care and library services.
Trained in strategic planning, Ms. Smith holds a Masters Degree in Community Service Administration from Alfred University. She is an adjunct instructor at Jamestown Community College and has taught a wide range of management workshops and courses in human services.
She has worked extensively with early childhood organizations including Success By 6 and Head Start. She has trained hundreds of board members in effective governance strategies and facilitated the strategic planning process for dozens of agencies and organizations in Western New York and Pennsylvania. Her clients include individuals, public and private agencies, foundations, library systems, school districts and higher education institutions.
